Not all woods are suitable for golf clubs. Craftsmen typically choose North American hard maple or ash for the shaft (the main body) because of its uniform density, straight grain, and moderate elasticity, which efficiently transfers power during impact.
The butt section often uses hardwoods such as ebony, rosewood, and sandalwood, not only to adjust the overall weight distribution but also to enhance the grip and stability.

Natural air drying: A crucial "treatment" for releasing internal stress. Newly felled timber has a high moisture content and must undergo 3-5 years or even longer of natural air drying to allow the moisture to evaporate completely, releasing internal stress and preventing later deformation and cracking.

Shaft Forming: The Transformation from Wooden Strips to Tapered Shafts
Cutting and Shaping: The air-dried wood is cut into rectangular strips, then roughly machined into a tapered profile.
Hand Finishing: Experienced craftsmen hand-polish the taper curve to ensure that the center of gravity and swing feel of each club meet design standards, achieving precise "point-and-shoot" control.
Reinforced Section: Some high-end clubs feature a layer of engineered wood or carbon fiber tubing over the maple core, like putting "armor" on the club, enhancing stability and durability.
